Fab Finds: New Year's Resolutions
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you all had a fabulous time celebrating last night, maybe some of you are STILL celebrating!? haha Either way, it's a new year and it's time for a fresh start, whether it be minor or major, it's YOUR fresh start!
I've decided to let you all be the FIRST to know what my New Year's Resolution is so that way you can all hold me accountable. A lot of times we set those goals for ourselves and we may start off on the right track and then....we fall off. SO, I've created a goal for myself that I feel is achievable and I will feel proud of myself for accomplishing.
What's my New Year's Resolution?
My New Year's Resolution is to actively use my physical cookbooks each week while meal planning recipes. Sounds simple enough right? WRONG. Nowadays it's SO easy just to pop on the internet, go on Pinterest (which is a permanent tab open on my computer!) and grab a recipe for whatever type of meal we're looking for, BUT I'm going to let you all in on a little secret...I own close to 100 cookbooks, 96 to be exact. Now you get my problem and why I need resolution. I have so many AMAZING cookbooks in my collection that have either been given to me as gifts over the years (two actually this Christmas) or some that I just couldn't resist and have bought myself.
I love cookbooks - I love reading them, yes that may sound lame, but I do. I love reading recipes, it's therapy to me. I love looking at the gorgeous photography, and I love reading stories behind recipes.
So it's my goal to make FOUR recipes a week out of my cookbooks - I think that's a fair number and very achievable. It's not fair to let these cookbooks sit on the shelf and collect dust, they deserve attention! People have put their blood, sweat and calories into these books and it's only fair that I consume those calories on their behalf! haha
I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite books I have and some that I'll be starting off with!

You may notice a lot of "CELEBRITY COOKBOOKS" but to my defense I have a VERY sweet brother who loves buying me cookbooks for gifts and I am ALWAYS going to accept them! haha They also have great recipes, so it's a win win!
Remember earlier when I mentioned I wanted you all to hold me accountable for this resolution? The way you can do that it by following me on social media (Instagram mostly @kimsfabfinds) and checkin on my dinner prep - I'll be posting my cooking adventures in my story! I'll post what book I'm using and what I'm making, then I'll give my verdict at the end of each meal! How does that sound? That way you can allllllll see that I'm doing my homework! OOooo this is gonna be fun! These are all recipes I've never tried before and I am PUMPED!!
I feel like I'm doing the opposite of most New Year's Resolutions - Getting fit, losing weight, etc! I try not to set that a goal for me because I'm ALWAYS trying to do that!! haha So while I'm continuously trying to stay healthy in the new year, I will be eating fabulous and sharing these recipes with you!
In the words of April Ludgate "Time is money, money is power, power is pizza, and pizza is knowledge, LET'S GO!!"
Wishing you all a Happy and Blessed New Year!!
Love you!!
XOXO
